CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CLASS:
Under the general supervision of the Information Technology Manager, performs complex clerical tasks in addition to work with basic technical components. Performs administrative, audit, and compliance work requiring independent judgment based upon knowledge of federal and state guidelines and agency requirements. The position requires an individual with technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure standards of compliance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains nexTEST and CJIS online databases to ensure all current Sheriff’s Office employees, County support staff, volunteers, IT vendors, and contractors complete and maintain required CJIS training.
- Maintain Falcon fingerprint information
- Reset CJIS and DAVID Passwords and handle account maintenance as needed.
- Act as the agency’s FAC/Alternate FAC, CJIS Online Administrator, and nexTEST Administrator
- Act as the agency’s DAVID Point of Contact
- Maintain Munis administrative items including entering Requisitions, entering Request for Checks, reconciling credit card statements, and maintaining Munis Inventory Assets.
- Support critical agency software systems, including CAD, JMS, and RMS
- Act as a liaison between agency employees and vendor support for CAD, JMS, and RMS systems.
- Maintain IT Contracts and coordinate renewals
- Work with vendors to obtain quotes for IT purchases
- Audit IT databases for accuracy
- Audit software usage for yearly renewals
- Use agency provided solutions to image computers for deployment.
- Complete IT physical inventory and reconciliation. Act as the I.T. department contact for all IT inventory change requests
- Document work performed in the agency work order system.
- Maintain the IT section fixed asset and parts inventory in assigned databases.
- Perform other administrative tasks as directed by IT Supervision
- Complete assigned work orders as directed by I.T. Supervision.
- Ability to assist with large scale projects such as department/office relocations, new equipment installations, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Training and Experience
- A minimum of a High School diploma or GED with some basic training in computer hardware maintenance either from a technical school or on the job training experience.
- Two years of experience supporting public safety software systems
B. Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
- The ability to learn the functions of all of the Sheriff’s Office computer equipment and their capabilities.
- The ability to quickly comprehend new applications and equipment and to make recommendations for their use, as necessary.
- Ability to effectively communicate instructions, requirements, and audit findings orally and in writing and to facilitate effective meetings and training.
- Ability to plan, organize, and follow through independently on work to ensure ongoing CJIS compliance with all applicable federal, state, and agency requirements.
- Knowledge of ordering, receiving, asset management and inventory control processes.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:
- Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction)
- Acceptable hearing (with or without correction)
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Ability to bend, crawl and climb ladders in the repair, maintenance and installation of computer/telephone equipment.
- Ability to carry equipment weighing approximately five to 75 pounds
